Reclaim of excise duty in France
The French customs authorities make a reimbursement available for a part of the levied domestic consumption tax based on the total consumption of diesel fuel, the so-called TICPE. This compensation is issued to carriers that transport goods via the road and to public passenger transport via the road.
The reimbursement for road hauliers (lorries) is different from that for passenger transport (buses) and below you will find an up-to-date overview of French excise reimbursements.

Required documents
- French invoices for diesel fuel including appendices and transaction overviews (a copy is sufficient)
- Tank vouchers, if requested by the tax authorities
- Supplier declaration (AVIS du stock). Herein the supplier declares that the refuelling was actually done
- Bank statement
- Copy of the registration documents. If the cars are registered with a different name, we also need a rental or lease contract for each car. This contract should meet certain specific requirements. We will guide you through this if necessary
- Power of attorney, with which you authorise us to reclaim the excise duties on your behalf
Other information
- Submission per half year
- For trucks where the ‘maximum permissible mass’ is at least 7,500 kg
- Only for companies that are established in the European Union.
- Reclaim is possible up to 2 years retroactively
